A Summary Of 2014

Like most years 2014 has definitely had its ups and downs. But overall, I think this year has been my favourite out of the 16 that I have been alive. I feel like so much has happened and I can't believe how quickly it has flown by.

Here is a little timeline of events that happened to me in 2014 (if the date is highlighted it means I wrote a blog post about it so feel free to check them out):

  • January 14th- My birthday. My Sweet 16 party wasn't your typical one. Me and some friends had a sleepover where we did many mature things...ok we watched episodes of Tracy Beaker and Hannah Montana. Its just fun to reminisce by watching old shows.
A really cool picture of me at my party!
  • February 18- This is when I made my first ever public YouTube video. I made my channel a while before and only uploaded private videos because I was too shy to make them public. But on this date I uploaded something for anyone to see.
  • 22nd March- I had a dance show with my dance school. I was really nervous to do it but then I ended up having a lot of fun.
  • 9th May- This was my last ever day at secondary school. Year 11 all dressed up and I went as Jessie from Toy Story. Sadly, it got quite emotional at the leavers assembely though.
My costume
  • 13th May- It was my first GCSE. I cant quite remember what subject it was. All I remember was thinking that I was nowhere near ready enough to do it but once I was in there I felt alright.
  • 16th May- Little Mix concert. This was the day of my history GCSE too and it must have motivated me as I got an A in history. This was by far one of the most impressive concerts I've ever been to and I left feeling absolutely mind blown. These girls are so talented and to this day I have no idea how they managed to dance for 2 hours straight whilst singing live.
The view from the LG Arena. We sat on
the very back row and could see everything.
  • 7th June- One Direction concert. I went with two friends and my sister and her friend. We went to see the boys in Wembley which was an incredible life experience, and it was a beautiful, hot Summer's day. I will never forget the view when it was still light outside and you could see the blue sky, but the stadium was getting dark so the lighters were glowing.
Everyone doing the Mexican wave at Wembley

  • 20th June- Prom. I was scared stiff about going to Prom because I was terrified of everybody judging me. Luckily, I had a great time once I got there!

  • July 16th - Started Izzy K: Fashion and Reviews. I was having so much fun blogging that I decided to start a second blog dedicated to fashion, beauty and reviewing products.
  • 21st of August- Results day. I was on holiday when the results for my GCSE's came out. Luckily my Dad was in England and went to collect them for me. I have no idea how, but I actually managed to get pretty good grades.
  • 2nd September- Started Sixth Form. I carried on at the Sixth Form at my school. I had a few new teachers and lots of new students join. Together with new subject everything still seemed so different to school.
  • 5th-7th September- Weekend away with Sixth Form. To get everyone introduced to each other, we went camping for the weekend. That was my first time ever camping and it will probably be my last. The place we stayed wasn't the most comforting. It didn't seem very inviting especially when they told us we had to bring everything ourselves including toilet paper!
  • 23rd September- Beau Bloggers was created. I found Lauren's blog post about wanting to start a blogging community. I emailed Lauren straight away asking if I could join and how I could help out. Doing that was out of my comfort zone but I'm glad I did it because I cant picture my life without Beau Bloggers now.
  • 9th October- I went to see my favourite singer, Ed Sheeran in concert for the first time. I've tried to get tickets for years but never could for many different reasons. It was definitely worth the wait though as the concert was life changing.
An actual picture of the actual Ed Sheeran
at the actual concert that I actually went to.
  • 11th November- My YouTube anniversary. It's so strange to think that I've been on YouTube for over a year now. I still remember making my first video like it was yesterday. I know that sounds cheesy but it really does seem like it.
  • 14th November- Me and Georgie met Alfie Deyes (Pointlessblog) at his book signing. It was such a surreal experience but I will never forget the fact me and Alfie made eye contact, EYE CONTACT OMG!

Our selfies with the man himself
  • 15th November- Collabed with Alfie Deyes...kind of. Well we appeared in the background of his vlog and I honestly cried when I found out I was in it.
  • December- I attempted to daily blog by doing Blogmas. It was tiring but so much fun and I'm glad I gave it a go.
  • 25th December- Christmas Day! I spent Christmas with my family and I still cant believe all the wonderful presents I got from everyone. I had an amazing day seeing my family.

So that is a summary of my year. It's been the busiest year I've ever had but it was still so much fun. The song of the day is Rather Be by Clean Bandit because its the most listened to song of 2014. I wish you all a happy new year. How did you find 2014? xxx

Blogmas Day 25- Merry Christmas

I can't believe it's Christmas day already! I hope you're all having a wonderful time.

Blogmas has gone by so quickly as has the rest of 2014. I've really enjoyed daily-blogging (most days) throughout December. Writing these posts were what kept me sane throughout the stress of the month. The highlight of my day was coming home, posting on my blog, and then reading everyone else's lovely posts.

Today I spent Christmas with my family. My family already opened most of our presents very early in the morning. Then my grandparents, aunts and cousins came over and we opened even more presents. I love every single one of them, they're all so lovely! We also ate a lot of delicious food. Lots and lots of food!

Thank you to everyone who has read my posts and wrote their own. The song of the day is White Christmas because ironically, it was pretty warm here today! Have a very merry Christmas and make the most of your holidays xxx

Blogmas Day 24- What Blogmas 2014 Has Taught Me

Merry Christmas Eve everybody! I'm currently relaxing in bed with my Christmas lights and candles on. I'm gonna emerge from my room later this evening to watch the Polar Express with my family.

My fireplace has been looking pretty festive lately

Blogmas 2014 has been amazing. I've really enjoyed writing these posts and also reading everyone else's posts throughout December. It definitely is the best time of year for blogging because everything just seems so exciting. But Blogmas has also been educational for me this year. Not educational in the sense of things you'd learn in a classroom, but I feel like I've gained a few experiences this month.

  • The first thing I've learned is that daily blogging is bloody hard! There's a lot more to it than I first expected. Thinking of ideas, then writing it, finding/taking pictures to use and checking the post is so time consuming. Sadly I missed writing posts on days: 10, 12, 13 and 14. I was experiencing technical difficulties and was feeling ill.
  • The second thing Blogmas taught me is that I can actually write posts faster than I thought. Usually, I would only write about 1 or 2 posts a week. That gave me plenty of time to think of ideas and check it before posting. But with a daily deadline, I decided it was time to speed up my writing. That means that I can now write posts quicker than before which will definitely save time.
  • Thirdly, by reading other people's Blogmas posts, I can tell that other people enjoy Christmas as much as I do. That's fantastic news! I love seeing people share the Christmas spirit and make the most of this time of year.
  • I've also realised, through daily blogging, that I need to organize my time a lot better. I've had less time for things like revision and homework this month and my exam results are certainly showing that. From now on, when I have days where I don't have as much work to do, I'm going to write my blog then instead of just spending all that time on Tumblr.
  • Also, I've realised that I have a lot of preparation to do if I ever want to do Vlogmas. And I certainly do want to do Vlogmas one day. I need to organize my time more and actually get a life to document lol! I doubt I will do it next year because I will be even busier with Sixth Form but hopefully I will do it the year after that.
  • And finally, Blogmas 2014 has taught me that blogging is so much fun. When I started my blog this January, I never imagined I would be here, 11 months later, attempting to daily-blog because blogging is my new hobby. It just shows that you never know that you might like something until you try it.

I hope you are enjoying Christmas Eve. The song of the day is Taylor Swift's cover of Santa Baby, because I think she has the sweetest voice so it fits the song perfectly. If you have done Blogmas this year, what has it taught you? xxx

Blogmas Day 23- Izzy And Lauren's Christmas Criticize Tag

This is a tag by the wonderful Lauren Williams from loveheartdoodles.blogspot.co.uk  and I am very happy to have her feature on my blog. The Christmas Criticize is where you pick Christmas songs and films and write your honest opinion about them. You speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Rules of the tag:
  • Must be done with two or more people
  • Must refer back to the owner of the tag
  • Must tag two or more blogs
  • It's not just for Christmas, it can be done with anything

Wham- Last Christmas

Lauren

Great classic, explores two themes of romance and Christmas. It's a nice song, I really like it. I also like Ariana Grande's version of the song, however when over played it is very annoying. With all famous Christmas songs, I feel like this, especially with All I Want For Christmas.

Izzy

This is such a cheesy song, but to be quite honest I love it. I've listened to it every Christmas for my whole life. That means whenever I listen to it, all I think of is all the Christmases I've already had and it just makes me so happy.

Justin Bieber- Mistletoe

Lauren

I really like this song, maybe because its not played as much and it's really nice tune to jam to, I love the little elements of reggae in the song. I'm not a Bieber fan but I give this song a thumbs up.

Izzy

Now I'm definately not a "Belieber", mainly because I don't like the way Justin treats his fans (spitting on them etc). But I'm not gonna lie, listening to Justin Bieber songs is my guilty pleasure. This one is no exeption and it is really jolly so perfect to get you in the festive mood.

Idina Menzel- Let it go

Lauren

Where do I start? It's an annoying song however it's so hard not to sing along once you do hear it. I think it's definitely been sung by little ones  more than anyone because the words motivate them and I mean, Frozen is a movie based on Ice and what better time for kids to love it than at Christmas.

Izzy

Now we all know this song has been over-played for the last year. But I think it just got to the point where I've accepted it again. But personally...I prefer the Demi Lovato version of the song, THERE I SAID IT! I just think her voice fits the film better.

The Polar Express

Lauren

The polar express is such a sweet movie, I think it's so adorable and it's definitely a movie to watch before going to bed on Christmas eve because you do go to bed feeling special only because it's Christmas tomorrow! It really does brighten up your Christmas spirit in time for tomorrow.

Izzy

I've loved his film from the moment I first watched it. Whats not to love? It's sweet and makes you believe in the Christmas spirit. The only thing that annoys me about it is that you never find out the main character's name.

Home Alone 1&2

Lauren

I've seen this movie like 18748762382734 times but it never gets old- both 1 and 2. The first and the second are the best because they're simply awesome and I give massive credit to the person who thinks up ideas for awesome movies like this. Marv and Garry (I think those are the robbers names?) always came across to me as really smelly, they looked it lol and I was so glad Kevin whooped their ass. I was also super jealous of the house that he lived in, who would't want to be home alone in that house?

Izzy

There is no doubt about it that Home Alone 1&2 are the best because they have the original cast. The scenes at the end of the movie where Kevin defends the house against the robbers are amazing. The traps he uses are hilarious and pure genius. Home Alone is a film that is perfect to watch with the whole family.

I tag anyone in Beau Bloggers to do this post next if they want to. The song of the day is Mistletoe by Justin Bieber.

Blogmas Day 22- Christmas Food

Just before I describe my favourite Christmas foods, it's probably best that I mention that I'm a vegetarian. That means this post wont include any classic meaty meals like turkey or pigs-in-blankets.

Christmas is the time of year where you continuously shove snacks into your mouth and then wonder why you no longer fit into your favourite pair of skinny jeans. And then you tell yourself lies like "one more wont matter" and "I'll start eating healthier tomorrow". The wonderful food is totally worth it though.

This is how I act at Christmas

The food at this time of year is definitely something special and my favourites include:
  • Gingerbread- When I think of Christmas, gingerbread automatically springs to mind. Every year me and my mum make loads. We use it for decorations (such as Gingerbread Sheeran) and unsurprisingly just for eating too.

  • Mince pies- I was gutted to find out that when you eat your first mince pie you're supposed to make a wish. I totally missed an opportunity there! And be honest, who else thought they were made of minced meat when they first heard of them?

  • Hot chocolate- I've drank about 10 billion hot chocolates already this Winter. We have a Costa at my Sixth form where I drink the Christmas edition brownie hot chocolate. My mum even had to tell me to slow down on buying them because she found out that's where I was spending the majority of my lunch money.

  • Cookies- Traditionally you are supposed to leave cookies out for Santa. In my house any cookies left out are eaten by me. It's quite strange because I only ever seem to have a sweet tooth in the Winter.

  • Christmas pudding- I either really, really like Christmas puddings or can't stand them. It depends on how they are made. Personally I like mine dripping in custard.

Thank you for reading. Yes, I am now drooling over all the food I've mentioned! The song of the day is Baby Its Cold Outside. What are your favourite Christmas foods? xxx

Blogmas Day 21- Favourtie Festive YouTube Videos

So its no secret that I'm obsessed with YouTube. I love everything about it, from watching videos, commenting and even creating my own content.

As well as Winter being my favourite time of year, I also find it's the best time of year for YouTube videos. The Christmas spirit seems to reach everyone and it definitely comes across in videos. In no particular order, here are some of my favouite videos to watch at this time of year:
  • Dressing Up and Decorating The Tree by...me, Izzy K. The reason I'm including it isn't because I think its the greatest video ever made because I know it's really not! Its simply because I had a lot of fun making it. I will always remember decorating the tree this year and therefore, watching the video will always put a smile on my face.
It was so much fun to film!

  • The cover of All I For Christmas Is You by Lauren Williams. Lauren has an amazing talent for singing and I'm honestly not just saying that because she's a good blogging friend of mine. If you haven't already, be sure to check out her brilliant channel.
For some reason, my blog wouldn't let me add this video. I've honestly tried everything so instead please click here if you want to watch it on YouTube!

  • The Truth About December by Danisnotonfire. Even though this video doesn't give the most positive view about Christmas, it's so true. I'm pretty sure me an Dan have the same personality and its actually scary how much I can relate to every single one of his videos.
I actually agree with the whole video, despite the fact I love Christmas haha!

  • The Grinch Makeover by ThatcherJoe. This video features Zoella and together, this brother and sister duo, are absolutely hilarious. The makeup in this is scarily like the one in the film and its so interesting to watch how they did it.
Both Zoe and Joe's costumes are incredible

  • The Suggs Christmas Past by Zoella. This has Joe and Zoe in it again and its one of the sweetest videos I've ever seen. I cant even count how many times I've watched it. It's so strange to see them that young but the things they come out with are just adorable.
My favourite part of the video is when Joe says
"Father Christmas is the best man ever, isn't he Dad?"

Thank you for reading. This post was especially fun to write about because it included one of my passions in life which is YouTube. The song of the day is Lauren's cover of All I Want For Christmas Is You and please check it out by clicking here. What are some of your favourite festive YouTube videos? xxx

Blogmas Day 20- Favourite Christmas Films

I spent yesterday having a movie marathon which is what inspired me to do this post. I enjoy watching Christmas films throughout the holidays. My favourite ones are as follows:

  • Elf- I think I've talked about this film about 10,000 times already this Blogmas but oh well. For those of you that don't know, this film is about a human who is adopted by elves. He then tries to fit back into the human world which has funny consequences. It basically plays on a constant loop in my house throughout December and everyone in my family can quote every line.
  • Home Alone- I find Home Alone 1 & 2 with the original actors the best. Poor Kevin always finds himself in some sort of trouble. Turns out being away from his family isn't exactly what he wants around this time of the year. You know Christmas is approaching when they show Home Alone 2 on the TV!
  • The Grinch- I've mentioned in my guest post with Lauren (here) that the Grinch used to scare me when I was younger. I remember it being on the TV when I was about 5 and turning it off because he creeped me out. Then I came across the film years later and absolutely loved it. I cant see why I found it so scary because its a silly film that you cant but help laugh at.
  • The Polar Express- Every year, me and my sister watch this film on Christmas Eve. Its one of the sweetest films I've ever seen and I find the soundtrack really adorable. This film will never fail to make you believe in Christmas magic.

  • National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- My parents were the ones who first showed me this film because they absolutely love the National Lampoon Vacation series. Its hilarious and shows your typical family Christmas with your not so typical family. I haven't heard of many people talk about it so if you haven't seen it I definitely recommend that you do.

Thank you for reading. The song of the day is When Christmas Comes To Town from the movie The Polar Express. Have you seen any of these films, if so what do you think of them? xxx

Blogmas Day 19- Movie Day

Today, the wonderful Georgie Watts invited me and a few other friends over for a Christmas movie marathon.
This is my expression now that the holidays have started

It was truly the perfect start to the holidays; watching Christmas movies all day and the fact that my sister's school hadn't broken up yet *me laughing in the background*.

Another thing that was really great about today was that I caught up with some friends. Some of my friends from school stayed at the Sixth form but sadly a few went to different ones. Luckily, we've still stayed in touch and today was the perfect opportunity to exchange our gifts in time for Christmas.

We watched the films: Elf (no surprises there), Frozen and The Holiday. These films are all hilarious and the day was filled with many giggles. A movie marathon is just what you need to get into the festive spirit.

If you haven't heard this before you're missing out

The song of the day is Little Mix's cover of Baby Please Come Home. I'm honestly praying that Little Mix do an acoustic album because their talent is so underrated at the moment. xxx

Blogmas Day 18- Christmas Lunch and Presents!

My sixth form hasn't really been feeling the Christmas spirit as they have been setting us lots of work and assessments to do. To make up for this, me and my friends decided to have a little Christmas party at lunch time and exchange presents then.

My presents from my friends that I'm really grateful for

A Levels are extremely time consuming which means that there is no use asking the teachers to put a film on for the last lesson, like they did in school, because the answer would be a definite "no". So I've had no fun lessons to end the term. My last biology lesson of the year was a mock exam. That was obviously extremely festive! Yesterday I had to go into my German teacher's Year 8 class to ask her a question and they were all making snowflakes and listening to music. I was like "OMG can I please join in?"

This was basically my timetable for the last day of term in Year 8

So it was up to us, the students, to bring the joy into the Sixth Form ourselves. We all brought in snacks for lunch. I brought some coke and everyone else brought sweets and chocolates. We even had samosas, SAMOSAS! Sorry, I got very excited, samosas are one of my favourite foods. It's needless to say that we were very, very full by the end of lunch and had to roll to our next lessons.

I know samosas aren't Christmas food, but I'll still eat them all year long

And then we gave each other our presents. We were one of the few friendship groups that didn't do Secret Santa as we thought it would be nice to get a little present for everyone. Even though it was more expensive to do, I definitely think it was worth it because then you can let everyone know that they mean something to you.

And now I have finally finished for the holidays! I'm glad that even though I still had to work, today was good fun because we had a little Christmas party at lunch. I was looking forward to it for ages and it's what's kept me going this week.

The song of the day is I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard because I obviously do wish it could be Christmas everyday. Have you started your holidays yet, or had a Christmas party? xxx

Blogmas Day 17- Snowfall Nails

Due to mostly technical difficulties I wasn't able to post on my second blog last week. Also, next week my Blogmas post will be on this blog instead of my second one. This is because next Wednesday is Christmas Eve and I have a special post planned that isn't about fashion or beauty.

This week on my second blog, Izzy K: Fashion & Reviews, I did a nail tutorial. I painted my nails with a snowfall theme and you can find out how I did them here

The song of the day is Night Changes by One Direction. I know that its not necessarily a Christmas song but the video looks quite festive. Well... they go ice skating. I just really wanted to include that song in Blogmas haha!

Tuesday 16 December 2014

Blogmas Day 16- The Christmas Tag

I'm probably the last person to do this tag this year but oh well. Let's get started:

What is your favourite Christmas film?

That would without a doubt have to be Elf. That film is on a constant loop in my house throughout the Winter and I can basically quote it off by heart.

This film makes me cry with laughter every single time I watch it

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

I live in England where it usually snows around January or February so it just misses Christmas. With that said, I have had a couple of white Christmases before which have been simply magical.

Magical get it? This is Christmas at Hogwarts...
...I'll show myself out

Where do you usually spend the holiday?

Christmas mornings are usually spent at home where we open our presents in the morning. Then, every year, our family takes it in turns to host Christmas dinner at their houses. One year its at our house, the next its at my Aunts house etc...

What is your favourite Christmas song?

I've written a post about most of my favourite Christmas songs here, but ultimately, it's gotta be Fairytale of New York. Its the jolliest song I've ever heard and you can quote me on that!

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

When I was younger I spent a few Christmases in Germany where its traditional to open your presents on Christmas eve. But now I open all my presents on Christmas morning. I love the excitement getting up early to find out if "Santa's been" and then being able to spend the rest of the day using my new things.

Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?

Nope, I can pretty much only name Rudolf!

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to the most this year?

I've already done my favourite holiday tradition which is decorating the tree. Every year my family put Christmas music on and we dress up to decorate the tree. It's so much fun and I wrote about it here.

My costume this year!

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

My Christmas tree is always fake. My parents have had the same one for 20 years which means I've sadly never been Christmas tree shopping. I feel like I'm missing out on a vital life experience.

I'd love to have a real one at some point

What is your all time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?

I absolutely adore gingerbread. At any other time of the year I wouldn't go near it, but in the Winter I cant seem to feel festive without it.

Be honest: do you like receiving or giving gifts better?

In all honestly I prefer giving presents. Unfortunately I'm rubbish at choosing presents and I'm always too broke to afford decent ones for my friends. Honestly, my friends deserve so much better than what I give them. If I won the lottery, I would spoil my friends by giving them amazing presents for once.

What's the best Christmas gift you've ever received?

The present I was most excited for receiving before was my Nintendo DS Lite. Remember those? I remember on Christmas Eve I was imagining what it would be like to have one and then my wish came true the next morning when I opened the box. I didn't put that thing down for years.

This was the exact colour mine was

What would your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

It's always been my absolute dream to visit New York when it's snowing. I think I've been watching too much Elf and that's inspired me to go.

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I am a complete and absolute failure when it comes to wrapping presents. Whenever I wrap them it looks like they've been done by a duck with no eyes. One year I decided it would be a great idea to wrap my friends present entirely in sellotape and the present ended up breaking. I would not recommend doing that.

Most memorable Holiday moment?

My most memorable holiday moments are all the times I've been sledging. That is one of the things I enjoy the most about snow.

What made you realize the truth about Santa?

You know the film The Gremlins which a lot of children watch? Well who decided it would be a great idea to mention it in there. I watched that film and remember my whole world crumbling when the "truth" was revealed.

This stupid film ruined my childhood

Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I never make big New Years resolutions. The way I see it, if there is something you want to change about yourself why wait till the new year to do it? I basically just make many small resolutions throughout the year.

What makes the holidays special for you?

This would without a doubt simply be the festive spirit. Everyone listening to music, teachers taking it slightly easier (before they bombard you with homework for the holidays), films on the TV and decorations everywhere you look.

I apologize for more Elf quotes!

Thank you for reading the Christmas Tag. If you have not done this tag yet then I tag you! The song of the day is Last Christmas by Wham.

Blogmas Day 15- Favourite Christmas Songs

I'm so sorry for the massive break I had in the middle of Blogmas! I took a few days off while I was ill. Also my computer broke so I couldn't do any homework for a couple of days. I've been catching up with that so didn't have time to blog. Fun, fun, fun...

Anyway back to the post. One of my favourite things about Christmas (ok I know I say that about everything) is the music. It automatically makes you feel festive and no one can resist smiling whilst singing along. I also love that its socially acceptable to listen to the same songs over and over again at this time of the year. In no particular order, here are some of my all time faves:
  • All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey. I definitely have a love-hate relationship with this song. I'll be honest I think this song is overplayed. However that doesn't stop me jamming out whenever I hear it.
This vine is basically how I react to this song
  • Last Christmas by Wham. This is one of those cheesy Christmas songs that everyone loves. Whenever I hear it, I think of my Year 5 Christmas party because I remember that song playing very loudly. Bit random but yeah...

  • Shake Up Christmas By Train. This is a seriously underrated song and I only heard it this January. I know it was a little late to be listening to Christmas songs, but I guess you could say it was just early for next year.
I haven't stopped listening to the
song since the start of the year. Woops!
  • Do They Know Its Christmas by Band Aid. I think its really cool how they re-do this song with current pop stars to modernize a great song for a great cause. This year the all the profits went to treat people with Ebola. I love the original as much as the new one which says a lot! The latest one has most my favourite singers in it including the wonderful Ed Sheeran.
I pretty much adore everyone in this photo
  • Fairytale of New York by the Pogues. This is my absolute favourite Christmas song. Admittedly, I have absolutely no idea what any of the lyrics are at the start so singing along with that bit is a complete guess. But I do like the tune when the chorus comes on. It's the jolliest thing I've ever heard.
The video is classic in black and white

Thank you for reading Blogmas Day 15 and I will be trying to daily blog again. It's impossible for me to choose a song of the day today so I'm gonna have to say its all of the songs mentioned in the post. What are your favourite Christmas songs? xxx

Blogmas Day 11- My Apologies

At the start of Blogmas I was really determined to blog everyday so know I'm really annoyed at myself that it's come to this.

I'm really sorry that there was no "Blogmas Day 10" yesterday but unfortunately I wasn't able write a post. First of all my documents wouldn't open which became a problem when I had to print off all my work. It also means that if it's not fixed I will have to redo all my notes for all my subjects since the start of the year. Then to make things even better (sarcasm) the volume on my laptop wasn't working. I had to spend hours last evening restarting  and attempting to fix my computer but alas, nothing worked!

This is honestly what I felt like
doing when I found out nothing was working

After all that I got the migraine from hell. My migraines are stress induced and I was definitely stressed out at the thought I might not be able to access any of my documents or pictures on my laptop ever again. I also couldn't go to Sixth Form today because my migraines were that bad. The thought of all the work I have to catch up on now is making my head hurt more. I'm stuck in a migraine cycle!

Me and my mum are on laptop fixing duty tonight and hopefully we'll get it sorted asap. So these techiqual difficulties and headaches are why I might not be posting for a few days. Even though I can use my laptop at the moment to write this post now, I won't be able to use it when it's being repaired.

Things we can learn from my experience:

  • Learn to deal with stress otherwise it can make you feel really poorly
  • When you commit to something like Blogmas make sure that you will be able to actually write everyday
  • Back up all your files and documents so you wont lose everything if your laptop breaks
  • And most importantly: when your laptop breaks don't start randomly pressing all the keys hoping that will fix it. That is unproductive and almost certainly wont work (I'm speaking from experience)
This is how I tried to fix my laptop

I'm hoping everything will be back to normal by the end of the weekend and I can return to doing daily Blogmas posts then. I'm really sorry again for any inconvenience this has caused :(

Thank you for reading. The song of the day is Rocking Around The Christmas Tree. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be back to blogging very soon xxx

Blogmas Day 9- Favourite Christmas Decorations

I've already written about my favourite Christmas tree themes, so why not write about the actual decorations used in those themes?

I think it goes without saying that my all time favourite Christmas decoration is tinsel. I think that when you put it on anything in your house, it instantly makes it look more festive. Unfortunately I'm not actually allowed to have it up in my home because my Mum hates it. I guess its just one of those things you either love or hate.

Having a tree made entirely of tinsel is my dream

Another decoration I like is Christmas lights. I think they look cool both inside and outside. Driving down the roads in December, passing all the houses with their lights up in the dark is one of the best feelings ever.

When I'm older I'm not going to stop
buying lights until my house looks like one of these!

Christmas decorations in my home aren't complete without our gingerbread house. They're are so much fun to make (and even more fun to eat) and look really cute as a decoration.

And the final decoration I have to mention is the tree-topper. There is the ongoing debate whether the best one is an angel or a star. Personally I prefer a star there I said it! Whichever one you go for, you must agree that a tree-topper is an essential decoration.

This one is so cute because it even lights up

The song of the day is Christmas Time by The Darkness because it happened to be the first song I listened to today. What are your favourite Christmas decorations and have I missed any out? Let me know in the comments xxx
