Blogmas Day 12: Favourite Winter Clothing Items

Happy Blogmas day 12 everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful festive time. Today I thought I'd share with you my fashion faves of this season, because let's face it, the best time for clothing is from October-January. 

I saw this jumper and I instantly fell in love with it!

1. Christmas Jumpers- I seriously love that it's become the fashion to have really cheesy Christmas jumpers. In fact I must bow my head in shame and say I haven't got my hands on one for myself yet. But regardless of that I still really like them and even though I don't have one myself they are one of my favourite clothing items. 

2. High Waisted Jeans- I feel like as Winter is here, I wear more jeans because they go with everything and are pretty cosy. High wasted jeans are my favourite because they make you look more in shape than you are and you can wear more cropped tops without having your belly hanging out. 

3. Boots- I can't even narrow this down to a type of boot, I love all boots. Whether they are Uggs, Chelsea boots, knee height boots, I just love them. They definitely make any outfit look 100% more stylish. 

4. Scarves- My mum always had to nag me about wearing a scarf out when I was younger, but nowadays I really like the look of them on top of an outfit. They just make you look so much more festive and not to mention they are so incredibly cosy. 

5. Patterned leggings- If you know me, you know I'm absolutely obsessed with leggings of all sorts, especially patterned ones. I find that the knitted pattern ones are my dream come true for the Winter season because they are so very warm, but also add a bit of dimension to your outfit. 

So there you are, my favourite clothing items which I like to wear/need to get my hands on for this wonderful time of the year. The song of the day is It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year, because it really is. What do you like wearing throughout Winter?

Blogmas Day 11: My favourite Christmas Films That Aren't Christmas Films

So since yesterday's post was "My Favourite Christmas Films", I decided to share my favourite films that, well, aren't really Christmas related. 

Now I don't know about you, but at this time of year, I always seem to go back to the same few films, even though they're not really relevant. I think it's just the relaxation from having time off that means I want to chill by watching a few of my fave films. So without further ado here are the typical films I watch in my holidays:

1. Mean Girls- I watched this for the first time during my Christmas holidays, and I will continue to watch it then for as long as I live. I truly think this is the most quoted film of this generation and it's filled with catch-phrases from start to finish. If you haven't seen this film yet, please reevaluate your life choices. 

2. Harry Potter- This is the time of year where I marathon all the HP movies. And if my mother's reading this, don't think I've forgotten the promise you made to me to watch ALL of them with me. These movies are truly my childhood films and I don't think I can even pick a favourite out of them. 

3. This Is Us- Yes this is the One Direction movie. Since me and my sister got this DVD for Christmas a few years ago, it's become a family tradition to sit down and watch this on Christmas morning. In a way, I'm not looking forward to watching it this year because of all the feels it will give me. Let's face it, 2015 has been one hell of a year for 1D, and it's definitely had it's ups and downs. 

4. High School Musical- Yes I know I'm 18 in a month, but yes I still kinda like High School Musical... a bit... quite a bit! It's such a huge guilty pleasure of mine and I just have to admit it's awesome because of the cheesiness of it. I think HSM2 is my favourite because the songs are the best!

5. Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe- This is one of my all time favourite films because it's been put together so nicely. My favourite scene has got to be when Lucy discovers Narnia for the first time and it's so pretty in the snow. Not gonna lie, I'm always a little bit gutted when the snow starts to melt in the film because winter is my favourite season and I'm like noooo there's gonna be no more winter scenery. Regardless of that, it's such a sweet family film.

Blogmas Day 10: My Favourite Christmas Films

As it gets closer to Christmas I literally get more and more excited for it! Like it's getting difficult to contain my excitement now!

After spending my productive chemistry lesson talking about my favourite Christmas films, I thought I'd share with you what I concluded, so here are my faves:

1. Elf- Who doesn't love this film? It's full of cheesy, childish humour and my whole family is obsessed with this film. Like it seriously plays on a constant loop in my house in December. My favourite quote from the whole film is the entire script; it's pure genius!

2. The Polar Express- This is one of the sweetest Christmas films I know. It truly makes you feel the Christmas spirit and the little songs they sing are so heartwarming. Me and my sister have watched this film every Christmas eve since the film came out!

3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation- My Mum absolutely loves this film and for me Christmas isn't Christmas without it! It's such a ridiculous film from start to finish and it has you laughing out loud the entire way through. If it was up to me, I would make it compulsory for everyone to watch this in their holidays. 

4. Home Alone- I think it goes without saying that these are classic Christmas films. I'm not even gonna deny the fact that I've watched 1&2 a couple of times already this year. This film truly is fun for the entire family (well unless you're Kevin's family!) 

5. The Grinch- I'll be honest, this film used to terrify the life out of me when I was younger. But then when I was in year 4 my class watched it at the end of the year and I had to watch it too even though I was scared to. I'm so glad I watched it then because I remember laughing with my class and actually really enjoying it. From then on it's been one of my favourite festive films.

Blogmas Day 9: Festive Makeup Look

Blogmas Day 8: My Favourite Christmas Decorations

Ok how is it Blogmas day 8 already? I swear we're only on like day 2. Oh how time flies!

Today I was having a really stressful day, so much so that I couldn't even bare the thought of going to Sixth Form. I literally woke up in the morning and was like "urrrrrrrmmm no" and remained at home for the rest of the day trying to sort my life out. The thought of all my deadlines getting closer, work piling up, all the things I have to learn and everything I have to sort out and organize just makes me feel a bit sick.

Luckily though, today is the day my family decorated my house for Christmas, and the Christmas cheer did put me in a better mood. Now my Christmas tree is nicely decorated and I even filmed a cheeky video while doing it (look out for that!)

Christmas wouldn't feel the same without all the lovely decorations that are everywhere you look. So here are my absolute favourite ones that just put me in a good mood by looking at. 

1. Christmas Trees- Who doesn't love a good ol' Christmas tree? If you celebrate Christmas in you household, a tree is absolutely essential. Whether it's real or plastic, they are just brilliant fun to decorate and even better to look at throughout the month of December. 

2. Tinsel- Unfortunately this is completely banned in my house because my Mum hates the sight of it. But I think it's the cutest little decoration ever and makes everything look 100x more festive. I'm sorry but how can you not love tinsel? 

I know there's not that much tinsel in this pic but

 I wanted to include it anyway because the cat is cute!

3. Gingerbread Houses- Everything about them is fun. From looking at them, to making them, to of course eating them. We keep our gingerbread house by our entrance at home and it's the sweetest little thing to see when you walk in the front door. 

4. Christmas Lights- I love driving around town at this time of year because most houses have lights on display outside. I love any type of Christmas light, especially if they are creative, however my absolute favourite would have to be the white ones that look like little icicles. 

5. Candles- I know these aren't specific to Christmas but I feel like the number of candles on display double in Winter. My favourite Christmas scents would have to be something Cinnamony, especially if it is by Yankee Candle.

So there you are, these are my favourite Christmas decorations and just the sight of them puts me in a good mood. The song of the day is Driving Home For Christmas because I reminded myself of that song whilst talking about driving around and looking at the lights. What are your favourite Christmas decorations?

Blogmas Day 7: My favourite Christmas Food

Happy Blogmas day 7, today I'll be talking about one of my favourite things in the world; food!

Now I love stuffing my face all year round, especially at Christmas when you actually have the excuse to do so. Normally, I like to stick to my savory foods, but for some reason I actually get somewhat of a sweet tooth around this time of year. So here are all my favourite festive foods:

1. Chocolate- Is it just me, or is there so much chocolate around at Christmas? Not that I'm complaining of course, especially if it's by my favourite brand Cadbury's. 

2. Pigs in Blankets (veggie of course)- Even though I'm a vegetarian, I do have to admit that the thought of pigs in blankets makes my mouth water. But don't worry, you can make a vegetarian option too! If you don't know what these are, they are basically sausages wrapped in bacon- a heavenly food. 

3. Roast Potatoes- I'm not a huge roast dinner fan (there's not enough pasta involved in the meal!) but one part of the meal I do still enjoy are roast potatoes. Especially if they are kinda crispy on the outside. 

4. Yorkshire Puddings- I never used to like these but I must admit that these last few years they've really grown on me. If you don't know what they are, there are made from batter and taste amazing with gravy. No English roast is complete without them. 

5. Cranberry Sauce- I love my little sauces at Christmas time and for me there's nothing more festive that a lil' bit of cranberries.

6 . Christmas Pudding- I feel like this is a dessert you either love or hate, and in my case I actually rather like it! It tastes so rich and I it tastes even better with custard. 

7. Gingerbread- I think gingerbread is my absolute favourite Christmas taste and I love it in drinks too. But gingerbread biscuits are the best thing ever. To this day, my greatest creation has to be my Ed Sheeran gingerbread man that I made (GingerbrEaD Sheeran) and there's no doubt you'll see him appear throughout blogmas. 

8. Soup- Who doesn't love soup at this time of year? My Seasonal faves would most definitely have to be either pumpkin or butternut squash soup because they taste delicious and warm you up during these chilly days. 

9. Hot Chocolate- Even though I love my highly caffeinated drinks, there's nothing better at this time of year than a nice warm cup of hot chocolate. Especially if they're flavoured, like Costa at the moment have a caramel hot chocolate for Christmas and it's a little bit of heaven in a cup. 

10. Trifle- This just has to be said, my mum makes the ultimate trifle and for me it's a typical Christmas food because she makes it for most celebrations, including Christmas. This is basically the best desert ever and I love all the variations you can make of it.

Blogmas Day 6: A German Christmas Tradition

For those of you who didn't know, my Mum is German meaning that I was raised with a few German Traditions. One of those is St Nicolas day.

On the 6th of December, Germany (and a few other countries I think) celebrate St Nicolas day. This is the feast day of Saint Nicholas, the bringer of gifts. On the night of the 5th of December, children will leave their boots and stockings out, and in the night St Nicholas will come and fill them with gifts, usually chocolates and sweets, as long as they have been good and polite. 

 I was lucky enough to wake up to my boots being very generously filled this morning. Either I was well behaved this year, or St Nicholas just wants me to get fat. Either way I'm happy and very thankful for what I've received :)

So I hope you've enjoyed learning about this little tradition that my family follows. I know this post was short and sweet (if you'll pardon the pun) but I hope you enjoyed it nevertheless.
