A message to my 18 year old self

So today I thought that I would write a message to myself, to look back at when I'm 18 and see if and how much I've changed. Here we go...

Hey 18 year old Izzy!

It's 16 year old Izzy here. I know its a bit late to write this as I've been 16 for almost 10 months now. But better late then never eh? I have just started A levels and so far so good. There's a lot of work so far and I've only just begun. I just hope I don't stress out taking the exams like I did for GCSE's.
My favourtie things to do at the moment are, blogging, youtube, listening to music and going shopping.
The Youtubers I watch the most at the moment are Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Dan and Phil, Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, Jenna Marbles, Ryan Higa and many, many more.
My favourite musiscians at the moment are Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Little Mix and 5 Seconds of Summer. I cant wait to go and see Ed in October (I've waited about 4 years to be able to) and 5 Seconds of Summer next year.
Nando's is my all time favourite restaurant and I eat there with my friends every month. At least!

Here's what you look like now:
I've said before that I'm really unphotogenic. Sadly this is the
most recent picture to show what I look like now!
(credit to Georgie Watts for taking the picture)

Now Izzy there are a few things I want you to have done by the time you're 18.
  1. Dye your hair loads of different shades and colours.
  2. Gain confidence with your Youtube videos. Also, try not to freak out if anyone you know finds out about your channel.
  3. Blog loads and loads and loads!
  4. Have a bit of an idea about what you want to do with your life. Like seriously Izzy sort it out!
Hope you enjoyed a trip down memory lane future Izzy. Did you do these things? What do you look like now? Have you changed in any way? What are you doing with your life now?

And there we have a little summary of my life right now. The song of the day is Different Beat by Little Mix. Thanks for reading and if you could write a message to your future self what would you say?  xxx

Thoughts on Sixth Form...So Far

Now that I've been at Sixth form for almost 3 weeks I've decided to share my initial views on it so far. You can read about my first day here.

Sixth form is completely different to secondary school. Many people told me that before I started, but as I'm studying my A-levels at the same place I thought that it would feel the same. However there are many differences.

The first major difference is that the step up from GCSE's to A-level is huge. On top of studying difficult subjects in the classroom, we're expected to do at least an extra hour of work for each lesson at home. For example, if I had 5 lessons one day I would have to do an extra 5 hours of homework just to make sure I don't fall behind. I really don't know  how I'm going to manage. THERE ARE ONLY 24 HOURS IN A DAY PEOPLE!

I hope I wont have too much work that I
don't have time to blog :(

The second difference is that I'm enjoying my subjects a lot more (despite all the stress). Even though I could chose some of my options for GCSEs, I was still forced into a classroom to do subjects like Maths and English. Now I'm only studying subjects that are interesting to me and I find my timetable much more enjoyable.

I am now treated more grown up too. I love this because I've spent my whole life being patronised for being small. It's great because I'm no longer treated like a 2 year old and I actually feel responsible.

Another reason why I feel more responsible is because you get more freedom. We are allowed to leave the site from lunchtime on wards (if we don't have a lesson). Nothing beats the feeling of having a free period in the afternoon and walking home at lunchtime. Especially when I know my sister, who's still at school, is stuck there for the rest of the day haha!

So there we are. The main differences between school and sixth form that I've spotted. I definitely know that my thoughts will change during exam season, but for now I'm actually quite enjoying going in.

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone else is enjoying school/work. The song of the day is Losing Sleep by John Newman because I've been losing quite a lot of sleep. I blame my messed up sleeping patterns and the fact I have to get up early again.

The Liebster Award

I was nominated by the wonderful Bella Boo (please check out her blog here!) for the Liebster Award. The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. It's a great way to get them noticed and learn about their blog. Lets get started...

11 Random facts about me:

  1. My middle name is Louise
  2. I have never broken a bone. That's unbelievable really considering how clumsy I am!
  3. I neither love or hate marmite. I just think its OK
  4. I'm a vegetarian
  5. Me and my sister haven't called each other by our actual names in about 4 years. We just refer to each other as "smelly"
  6. My favourite singer is Ed Sheeran
  7. I'm all for self confidence. But one of my biggest turnoffs are big-headed people who think they're better than everyone else
  8. Irish accents are my weakness and I could listen to them all day long
  9. I've watched Harry Potter so many times I can basically quote it off by heart
  10. I have a really bad sense of humor (blame my dad) and find the cheesiest jokes hilarious.
  11. I'm cursed with being unphotogenic. There's literally not ONE good photo of me in existence. Here's a picture someone took of me when I wasn't prepared:
I might as well quit school now and become a model!

Bella's Questions:

1.If you could blog professionally would you or would you get bored? Yes absolutely! I doubt I'll ever be fortunate enough to be able to do this full time. But I'm going to carry on as long as I still find it fun.

2.What's your method for planning posts? I try to write any post as soon as I have an idea. That way they're still fresh in my mind. Then I go over and check it about 1000 times (I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my blog).

3.If you had to pick between a gorgeous handbag or amazing shoes. Which would you pick? SHOES! If you saw the state of my handbag you'd understand why I wouldn't want to ruin a gorgeous bag. I always use the same one and its become a bit of a mess.

4.What's your biggest achievement in so far in your life? Doing a high ropes course on holiday to try and get over my massive fear of heights. I decided to do the course by myself without friends or family. That's a huge achievement for me because I can't usually do anything on my own, yet alone something about 30m in the air!

5. Tea, Coffee or hot chocolate? Definitely coffee because I can't even start the day without it.

6.If you could start your life again from age 10 (with all your memories and knowledge), Would you? I don't think I would. But then again I wish I was a bit louder from that age on wards so I would have more confidence now.

7.What's your dream career? This is something I change my mind on all the time. I'm just gonna carry on doing things I enjoy and hope it all ends well.

8.Would you rather have a pet cat, dog or horse? I'm a huge animal lover so all three! But I must say my favourite of the three is a cat. Watch me slowly turn into a crazy cat woman over the next few years.

9.The best ever holiday you've had? When I was about 5 and 6 we went to Greece and Cyprus. They're beautiful countries and I'm dying to go again.

10. Describe your perfect Friday night? Oh you know, I do really cool things like go to parties or go clubbing... I'm not fooling anyone am I?
Seriously though I prefer to just chill at home, eating a takeaway and watching TV.

My questions:

  1. What made you first start blogging?
  2. Do you have any guilty pleasures?
  3. How many people/ who knows that you write a blog?
  4. First concert?
  5. Current celebrity crush?
  6. Are there any TV shows you're obsessed with?
  7. What is your favouite quote?
  8. What is the meaning behind your blog name?
  9. Make up essential that you can't live without?
  10. What's the first blog you ever started reading?

I nominate Georgie Watts and JRDNSMTH and It's a Bug's Life. I love their blogs and you wont regret giving them a read!

The Rules:
You must link back to the person who tagged you
Post 11 facts about yourself
You must answer all questions above
You must come up with 10 questions
You must tag other bloggers with under 200 followers!

Thank you for reading! The song of the day is Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran

First day of Sixth Form

Sadly, the summer holidays have come to an end (too soon) which meant that I started my new Sixth Form.

Stupidly, I only applied for one Sixth Form. That was a bit risky but luckily I got the grades I needed.

My uniform is not as nice as previous years who were allowed to wear anything they wanted so long as it was classed as "smart-casual". I had hoped to wear pretty dresses and cute blouses but oh no, they had to go and change it didn't they! Instead I now have to dress like a middle aged business woman which is obviously every 16 year old's dream. The dress code is a black or grey suit, with a smart blouse or dress.

Here is my black blazer and
skirt that I'll wear with a blouse

My Sixth Form is at the same place as my old secondary school. I wasn't too nervous about starting, which is strange for me because I usually worry about everything. Quite a lot of my friends were going there. Also, I knew that those who were new would be even more scared than me.

Today was the first day so not much work was done as you could expect. In the first two hours we met our forms and had an Assembly. Then we spent the rest of the morning getting to know everyone in our class with cringy name games.

Lunch probably had to be the most exciting part of the day. For the first time ever we were allowed to leave the site and eat anywhere we wanted in town! Me and my friends decided to grab something to eat from Tesco but everyone else from Year 12 and 13 seemed to have the same idea too. This means Tesco was rather crowded. I even heard a woman doing her shopping there ask someone in my year "what time is your lunch break so I know not to come here at that time again".

In the afternoon we had lessons. My first lesson of the year was a free period, which I was pretty chuffed about. The final hour of the day I had RE. The course I'm taking is RE/ Philosophy which is really, really, really interesting but there's a lot to take in.

The A levels I'm doing are Biology, Chemistry, RE, Psychology and German. I've heard that the step up from GCSE to A Level is ridiculously difficult. However, I still hope to enjoy it and make the most out of these next two years.

I hope everyone had a nice summer and you are settling in well at school, sixth form, college, university, work or anywhere else you might be. The song of the day is Don't Stop by 5 Seconds of Summer.
