25 Question Tag

Today I thought it would be fun to do the 25 Question tag which the wonderful Georgie tagged me in. You can check out her fabulous version of the tag here! Thanks for tagging me in it and lets get started:

1. Do you have any pets?

I adore animals and I have 2 cats called Kitty and Fidget and 2 fish. At home we also have my sister's hamster, Terry, and stick insects.

Here's Kitty when my sister dressed her up.

2. Name 3 things that are physically close to you

My laptop, chocolate and Kitty.

3. What's the weather like right now?

It's the classic British weather which is overcast. How delightful!

4. Do you drive? If so have you crashed?

I've had a couple of driving lessons and surprisingly I haven't crashed yet. You can read about my first lesson here

5. What time did you wake up this morning?

9.30 because its the holidays and I wanted a bit of a lie in. I also didn't want to spend the whole day in bed and waste my holiday.

6. When was the last time you showered?

Last evening because I have a shower every evening.

7.What was the last movie you saw?

Expelled. I was procrastinating during revision please don't judge me.

8.What does your last text message say?

My last text message was off Vodafone (I'm too popular I know!) The last text message I got off a real life person though was from my dad. He's in China at the moment and he told me he left his laptop at the airport. Nice one dad!

9. What's your ringtone?

It's just one of the really standard ringtones that come as an option on my phone.

10. Have you ever been to a different country?

I have been to Wales, Germany, Romania, Austria, Switzerland, France, Greece and Cyprus. I've never left Europe though. I'd love to go to America next year but I doubt I'll have the money.

11. Do you like sushi?

To be quite honest I can't stand it, or any sea food in general.

12. Where do you buy your groceries?

Well my mum is the one that does the grocery shopping. She usually goes to Tesco or Lidl. Yeah... we're quite a cheap family.

13. Have you ever taken medication to help you fall asleep faster?

I've never taken actual medication to get to sleep. However, I do take some herbal remedy things to help reduce stress and get to sleep at night.

14. How many siblings do you have?

Just the one which is plenty lol! I have a sister called Vicky who's a year younger than me and quite a handful.

15. Do you have a desktop computer or laptop?

A laptop. I much prefer having a laptop because it means I can spend all day on it in bed.

16. How old will you be turning on your next birthday?

I'll be turning 18. Am I ready to be an adult? Absolutely not...

17. Do you wear contacts or glasses?

I'm supposed to be wearing glasses but I always forget to wear them.

18. Do you colour your hair?

Yes because I'm kind of obsessed with changing my hair colour. My natural hair colour is a blonde/brown colour but at the moment its a reddish-brown colour.

I'm so torn between going back to my
natural colour or this sort of chestnut brown.

19. Tell me something you are planning to do today?

Finish revising. I always write a little to do list for each day and today I want to actually be able to understand something that I need to know for my biology paper.

20. When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday when I watched Kodaline's video for All I Want. It's such a beautiful song with a sweet music video. It's quite sad to start off with but it has a cute ending. All those emotions in a short amount of time just made me sit there bawling.

21. What is your perfect pizza topping?

Does it sound really boring if I just say margherita?

22. Which do you prefer: hamburgers or cheeseburgers?

I'm a vegetarian so I love veggie burgers with lots and lots of cheese on them.

23. Have you ever had an all-nighter?

Yes probably way more than I should. Being an A-level student has taught me to survive without sleep and just do homework and revision instead. Besides, who can sleep when you're so very stressed?

24. What is your eye colour?

My eyes are very dark brown although I think they're getting a tiny bit lighter.

They're this sort colour
(although my makeup never looks that good)

25. Can you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coke?

No I honestly can't say that I can, but I wish I possessed the mystical power to be able to do so.

Thank you for reading this post. I tag anyone who is reading this, and if you do this tag let me know in the comments. The song of the day is All I Want by Kodaline because it features in this post xxx

My First Driving Lesson

So today something quite exciting happened. I drove for the first time! It was different to how I thought it would be but good fun nevertheless.

My Mum wanted to be sentimental and capture the moment
(Don't worry I was pulling an awful face on purpose)

Now if you know me well, you will know that I have always wanted to drive. I have literally been counting the days to my 17th birthday since I was about 12. I just think I'll feel so mature doing it. Since I'm always being patronized for looking about half my age I can't wait to show people that I can do something really "grown up".

Now the irony is that although I have been waiting for my 17th birthday for years, I didn't go driving until now...and my birthday was in January. Woops! I've had my driving lessons on my to-do list for a while now but I just haven't got round to and actually doing it. One reason was because I didn't have my insurance for a while because me and my family weren't sure who to use. We probably should have looked that up before hand! Also, and this is the main reason, I have had soooo much work and revision to do. I've basically been cocooning in a pile of revision notes in my bed for the last few months.

I had my first driving lesson with my Mum because I didn't want to be judged by a driving instructor. I know they're used to teaching beginners, but trust me I would be exceptionally bad. I haven't driven properly yet, like not on a road or anything. Me and my Mum practiced in an empty car park so I could get used to the car and everything. Overall I think it went pretty well (by that I mean I didn't crash). However I did keep forgetting how to break and just ended up stalling the engine a lot instead #mybad!

So that was my first little driving experience and I can't wait to have more lessons. Hopefully I'll pass as soon as possible but knowing me it will take a few years till that day actually comes. After all, I managed to fail my cycling proficiency which is quite an achievement. Thanks for reading, the song of the day is Like I Can by Sam Smith. See you guys soon xxx

40 Beauty Questions Tag

Hey guys!

Here is the video itself!

It's been about a month since I last posted a video and in my opinion that's too long. I know I've been doing a lot of tag videos lately but to be honest they're videos I genuinely enjoy watching other YouTubers make. And that't the point isn't it? To make videos that you enjoy making and that you'd enjoy watching yourself.

This tag is called "40 Beauty Questions" where I quite literally did what it says in the title and answered 40 questions related to beauty. It was great fun to film and here are the questions if you would like to try the tag yourself:
  • How many times to you wash your face daily?
  • What skin type do you have (dry or oily)
  • What is your current facial wash?
  • Do you exfoliate?
  • What brand do you use?
  • What moisturiser do you use?
  • Do you have freckles?
  • Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
  • Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
  • What foundation do you use?
  • How about concealer?
  • Do you know your undertone colour?
  • What do you think of fake eyelashes?
  • Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
  • What brand of mascara do you use?
  • Sephora or MAC?
  • Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
  • What tools do you use in makeup application?
  • Do you use primer for your eyes?
  • What about for your face?
  • What is your favourite eyeshadow?
  • Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
  • How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
  • What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
  • Do you use mineral makeup?
  • What is your favourite lipstick?
  • How about lipgloss?
  • What is your favourite blush to use?
  • Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
  • Do you like drugstore makeup
  • Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
  • Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
  • Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
  • Name a makeup crime that you hate
  • Do you like colourful shades of makeup or neutral ones?
  • Which celebrity always has great makeup?
  • If you could leave the house using just one makeup item, what would you use?
  • Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
  • Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
  • In your opinion what is the best makeup line?
  • What do you think of makeup?

Thank you very much for reading/watching. I really hope you enjoyed the video. The song of the day is 5 Colours In Her Hair by Mcfly. See you soon xxx

McBusted Concert! (contains a few spoilers)

Yesterday, on the 28th March 2015, I went to see McBusted in concert for the first time. For those of you that don't know, McBusted are a supergroup formed between McFly and Busted. Their members are Tom Fletcher, James Bourne, Danny Jones, Harry Judd, Matt Willis and Dougie Poynter.

Unfortunately, the camera on my phone does not adjust well to lighting at concerts so I couldn't take any decent photos myself. That's why I'm not including any pictures of the actual concert itself in this post and I'm not going to take credit for any other pictures that I have used. But at least I don't need photos to remember this occasion as the memories of last night will permanently be engraved in my brain.

The reason that I was extra excited about seeing this particular band is because I have been a fan of them for 12 years. Yes 12 whole years ladies and gentlemen! I practically grew up listening to them as both McFly and Busted have been around since I was 5. In fact, one of my fondest, earliest memories is listening to "Crashed The Wedding" by Busted at my 6th Birthday party. And lets face it you couldn't have grown up in the UK in the 00s without jamming out to songs like Year 3000 and Star Girl.

Let's be honest, we all used to jam
out to this in our rooms didn't we?

I really loved how they sang a mixture of their old and new songs. I absolutely love their new album, but because I didn't see them last year I didn't want to miss out on the experience of listening to their classic stuff live. They had a great set list starting out with Air Guitar which was followed by songs like Air Hostess, What I Go To School For, Obviously (my personal fave), Hate Your Guts, What Happened To Your Band, Beautiful Girls Are The Loneliest and many, many more. And of course they had to finish off with their absolutely amazing tune, Year 3000. Hearing that song live after so many years actually almost brought a tear to my eye!

I'm so lucky to have these to remember this night

There were lots of concert highlights for me. Their dance moves for starters were amazing because they just seemed so fun and full of energy throughout the whole thing. I also loved the whole theme of the concert as it was sort of computer game themed which just seemed so them if you know what I mean. Also the whole stage was set up like a working arcade machine and they obviously had to have a go on it in the middle of the show which was hilarious. The funniest bit of the concert had to be when Crashed The Wedding played and they got all dressed up. And when I say dressed up I mean in like full-on wedding dresses haha!

The only upsetting thing that happens when you see a fantastic concert is that you get post concert depression afterwards. That's definitely happening to me at the moment because that was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. All I'm going to be doing for the next few weeks is watching videos from the concerts (that other people took), listening to their album and singing my heart out to McBusted songs. My Mum already shouted at me for singing too loudly and waking my family up when I came back from the concert...woops!

I'm going to finish this post off because its getting quite late. I know I should be going to sleep but I just have a ringing in my ear from the music and an adrenaline rush from watching one of the best bands ever perform. The song of the day is Air Hostess because it's been stuck in my head ever since their performance of it.  Thanks for reading this post, I really loved writing it and remembering the whole show xxx

0% Motivation

Does anyone ever have those days where you look around your messy room, look at your checklist of endless tasks you need to complete and remember all that revision that you need to dive into and just think....nah? Because I've been feeling a bit a lot like that lately.

Even this post will probably take me ages to write because I just keep delaying absolutely everything. That's a really scary thing for me to say because I never used to be like that. I don't want to imply that I've always been completely organised, but I never used to procrastinate about doing tasks either. I would consider myself quite a workaholic so I really don't know how to handle it properly when I don't feel like working.

I'll work harder "tomorrow"

The main reason why I can't be bothered to try properly with tasks is because I keep failing at everything I try. If I put loads of effort into a task and I fail miserably, what's the point in even trying next time? And I've just got my mock exam results back for my A Levels and lets just say... I would't be too happy if I got those results in the real ones. Mind you I didn't do as badly as I thought I did, but it was just a bit disheartening to see that's the best I could do when I put so much effort into it.

An accurate representation of what
happens whenever I try to do something

I also feel like there's not enough hours in a day to get everything done. It's like I'm slowing down in a world that's speeding up. I haven't got round to sitting down, clearing my head, organizing my life and then doing my tasks. I think that would take too much time which is definitely something I don't have at the moment.

I don't know how, but I feel like this picture is very relevant

On top of everything else I just feel like it has been an overall bad week for the entire World which just kinda makes everything seem a bit pointless. Literally every single news story I heard this week has been bad news, every single one! It's just been accidents followed by breakups followed by suicides followed by bands splitting up (I'm sure you all know who I'm talking about). That's made me quite demotivated because there doesn't seem much point getting out of bed if there's nothing good out there.

And I'm sorry if it looks like I've not been putting a lot of effort into my blog or channel lately and that I haven't been posting as much as I used to. I've started to overthink every move I make so it means that I don't think that any of the posts I've been writing have been good enough to post lately. I'd rather post things that I'm happy with rather than something that is clearly rushed.

When I rush to finish a post

Another reason why I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like to is becasue I've been trying to put more effort into my revision (you wouldn't think that by seeing my results though haha). It would be great if I found an effective method to revise but for now it looks like I'll just have to result in stapling a revision guide to my face and walking round like that 24/7.

Thank you for reading. The song of the day is Salute by Little Mix because it always seems to motivate me so hopefully it will do the same now. If you feel like you have no motivation either, don't worry, you're not alone and we can both power through this thing we call life together! xxx

Hello, My Name Is Izzy, I'm A Blogger And Here's Why...

Hello lovely person reading this! The reason I am writing this post is because I didn't want to sit down and physically tell people about my little blog. I thought I would just write one post explaining everything and then link people to it. If I haven't told you about this in real life, and you just happen to stumble across my blog, please don't be offended. It's not that I don't trust you or like you enough to tell you, it's just I didn't want to bother you with something you may not be that interested in reading in the first place. I think you can tell from this introduction alone that this will be a long post so without further ado lets just get started...

As this is a personal post I thought I'd share
a collage of my glorious selfies that my friend made!
#notamodel

As you most likely know my name is Izzy and I am obsessed with the internet. Just over a year ago, in January 2014, I thought that it might be fun to start documenting my thoughts online. I really didn't think much of it at first; it was just a silly little hobby.

When I first started I was extremely shy about my blog and also my YouTube channel. I'm not the sort of person that's like "Hey I do this thing which I think is pretty cool, go check it out". I really don't mind not being the center of attention; in fact I rather prefer just blending away in the background. But with that said I actually feel like I am at the point where I can start to tell a few more people. It's become such a huge part of my life and it feels strange not sharing the experience.

I'll be the first one to admit that this isn't exactly the best written or most professional blog (I'm still working on making my writing gooder!) If you happen to know me in real life you will know that I never showed much of a passion for reading and writing. It may seem really random that I have a blog in that case, but trust me its a bigger shock to myself than anyone else.

There wasn't a specific reason why I started in the first place. A couple of factors just started to accumulate until I gave in to the blogging world. The main reason was because I had started a YouTube channel a couple of months before hand but I was waaaaayyyy to scared to post proper videos. I don't think I had even posted a video of me speaking. I then found out that many YouTubers that I admire had started off by writing a little blog. For me that sounded ideal because it was like making videos but without talking or even having to show your face! It was at this point when I started reading blog post after blog post and became hooked. There was no way I wouldn't at least try it for myself.

Now you may be wondering what I actually write about. The answer to that is on my lifestyle blog Izzy K, I pretty much write about anything and everything. I write about what I've been enjoying lately, whats been stressing me out, things I found interesting and even little day in the life posts. Don't you worry, I never share too much personal information such as my address. Actually why not share that? My house number is 46....jk jk I wouldn't share stuff like that. Sorry potential stalkers out there.

And because I was having so much of a blast writing this blog, I started my second blog Izzy K: Fashion and Reviews (I'm thinking of changing the name of it soon so watch this space). I was enjoying reading fashion and beauty related posts so I thought why not try it out too? You don't have to be a genius with an IQ of 170 to work out that I wouldn't be the ideal beauty guru. With that said I do enjoy writing posts about any products I've tried or any tips I have. I'm no expert but everyone has to start somewhere and in my case there is just lots of room for improvement. So, so much room.

Next I want to move onto what I've actually achieved through this blog. The main thing has to be the fact that I'm actually starting to enjoy reading and writing. Somehow my two blogs have also reached over 6,500 views which is just completely crazy. I've also met the most amazing bloggers. I find it amazing that I can learn so much about people that live all around the world. Blogging has definitely opened many doors to meet the most wonderful, supportive people ever.

Speaking of wonderful, supportive people I should mention Beau Bloggers. Last September I read Lauren's post about wanting to start a blogging community. I was just gaining a bit of confidence with blogging and I felt it was perfect timing to get involved in a community. I can't even believe how well the little community is going. I'd like to thank everyone who is involved in it because thanks to you I'm super proud of it!

And you may be wondering what I'm actually hoping to achieve through this blog. The answer is I honestly don't know. I'm hoping to grow it, not necessarily in masses of numbers but just in quality and quantity. I know it's extremely difficult to make it big as a blogger because there is just so much competition. As long I still enjoy writing posts like this in my bedroom in many years to come then I will be chuffed. There's no specific goal I want to reach, all I want to do with my blog is just write and write and write...

Thank you very much for reading. To be honest I don't mind if you skipped through it because it was very long but thank you nevertheless. The song of the day (this is something I do in all my posts) is Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson. I hope you enjoyed this post and stay tuned for more of this xxx

The Versatile Award

Hello, I'm finally writing a post again. I'm sorry that I haven't been blogging much lately but I blame my mock exams entirely for that. However, I've kindly been nominated to do the "Versatile Award" so I thought I would get cracking with that. Here we go...

The Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you for the award - hopefully with a lovely link to their own blog: I was nominated by the wonderful Chloe Dream from The Other Dream Girl. She has an excellent blog and writes beautifully so please check it out if you haven't already.
  • Tell your readers and the person who nominated you 7 facts about yourself
  • Finally, nominate 15 other blogs that you have recently discovered for the award

Here are 7 facts about myself:

  • My favourite hobbies are blogging and making YouTube videos. I wish I had time to do it all day everyday, because there's literally nothing else I enjoy doing more. Unfortunately life and mandatory tasks such as homework, sixth form and revision get in the way. Urrghhh!
This is how I feel after posting something I've been working on for ages

  • I live for different accents. My favourite accent would probably have to be Southern Irish, but I honestly love every accent there is. The chances are that if you have a different accent to me I will be obsessed with the way you talk.
  • I have never, ever, ever broken a bone. That's pretty good considering I'm the clumsiest person imaginable and I somehow manage to bump into everything. But I did chip one of my milk teeth if that counts.
I'm pretty sure Mr Bump is my spirit animal

  • I try to incorporate pasta into my diet as much as possible. I wouldn't complain if I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner for seven days a week.
Macaroni cheese is my personal fave

  • The first language I ever learned to speak was German. I didn't learn English properly until I started nursery.
  • I'm absolutely heartbroken that I wasn't born with ginger hair. Personally, I think its the coolest natural hair colour to have and I don't get what some people have against it. I mean its orange hair people ORANGE HAIR, how cool is that?

This is what I do to 100% of people with red hair that I meet.
  • My ultimate goal in life is to become a crazy cat lady with a minimum of 10 cats. How cool would that be? I mean there would literally be cats in every room. I can't imagine anything better than having cats wherever you look. Wow...ok I think I'm getting a little carried away thinking about cats so I better end this post here.
#lifegoals

The people who I would like to see write this post next are:

Thank you so much for reading I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me. The song of the day is Independent Woman by Destiny's Child. Gotta love that catchy tune: Question! Tell me what you think about me, I buy my own diamonds and I buy my own rings...
